“and further more, we’ve decided to go ahead let the cat out of the bag. Yes, Michael Powell is on our payroll and we plan to continue our mission of sanitizing radio to the point where only five jocks will voice track everything. With our McRadio attitude and the power of the Death Star, we will rule the universe…..MUAHAHAHAHAHAH……MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!”

less is more because they dont have any jocks to even talk. clear channel sucks. Kiss fm doesn have 1 live jock, that is insane. then again, whod work for a tanking clear channel in BOISE…that does wonders for the resume im sure!

Didn’t I read here not too long ago that Kool 104 was now live all day and I think that lite is also now live all day……..Can Mix be far behind? And with all the top 40’s in the market loosing money hand over fist, can you blame Kiss for not being live when they get just as good or better ratings from satalite and make more money from satalite than live. Hmmmmmm, sounds like good business to me. How much longer can citiswell continue to pay live jocks to do top forty on Magic when Kiss is making more money by not being live even though their ratings are worse. I smell a format change.

oj…you are talkin out yer ass man. Kiss pacticlly gives away spots for 10 dollers a spot for ALL day parts. magic continues to hit and shatter monthly revenue goals. an overnight spot on magic is the same price as a morning drive spot on kiss, trust me ive priced them. thus proving you track with out of towners, you make jack for a station. you go live and local with decent station, you win and make more money. Magic makes in two months revenue about what Kiss makes in one year. suck it oj.

Anonymous (if that is your real name) You show a lot of your ignorance on the subject with your response about “shattering monthly revenue goals” Anybody can shatter monthly revenue goals if you set your goals low enough. Why don’t you check over the past ten years and see how this year and last year compare as far as revenue is concerned. Check back and compare to when kiss sighned on air and see how revenue has gone down since then. I’m not saying Kiss is setting any records either, and no I don’t work for kiss……..I’m saying that this market never has and never will be able to support two chr’s, revenue wise. And when I said that kiss using satalite jocks made good business sense I meant it to mean that with the income magic is bringing in compared to the income kiss is bringing in, and subtracting about $300,000 a year saved
in salaries, board ops, vacations, insurance, 401k etc. then it ends up being pretty equal. And as for charging as much for overnight sposts as kiss charges for morning spots, you can charge anything you want for spots, but that doesn’t mean that’s how much is being paid. You can get free spots on Magic, just like Kiss if you buy a package that includes thier popular stations, that actually have some ratings in demos other that 12 to 17.

One little quip on the poster: the phrasing is terrible. Less breaks? Less commercials?

How about “fewer breaks” and “fewer commercials.”

I know… “Fewer is more” doesn’t sound as great for a screaming header…

oh, and while i’m at the nitpicking game: They have a little unregistered trademark symbol next to the Less is More phrase.

Good luck registering that. Do a Google search — you’ll get more than 500,000 hits, including titles of books and more.

You should check out all the hits you get when you search Kiss or Mix……both are trademarked by clear channel, so I don’t think it matters a whole lot whether someone else used it first.
