Monsterously bad idea

Don Day | November 4, 2004

Have you seen those MadRo posters stuck to power poles all over town? First off, they are not legal (Boise has a “post no bills” law on the books). Second, they are tacky.

Third — have you noticed that many of them have KTPZ window stickers stuck to them? It’s pretty hard to see though — so even this cheap promotion isn’t effective.

Plus, I thought LOR gave up on Boise again.

Media media, everywhere

Don Day | November 4, 2004

KBOI is advertising front and center on IdahoStatesman.com — and in the paper itself. KCIX is running a promotion with KTRV — a Friends word scramble watch/listen & win. Several stations have made ad buys in the Boise Weekly as well.

And a note on CC’s billboards: does it seem to anyone else that they bought the Lamar’s 4 board minimum? I’ve seen two: A KSAS board on Overland, and a KLTB board on Front.

And is Kiss even playing Pink right now? And can she please keep her shirt on?

Let’s play ‘you pick out the irony’

Don Day | November 4, 2004

One more KRVB note today (yeah, I know… all I talk about is TheRiverMagic&Kiss…)

On today’s show, Teri Tate ready a survey saying 30% (?) of people have dreamt of having sex with a co-worker. She quickly added ‘I want to go on the record as saying that’s never happened to me.’

OK, that’s round one of our game. Round two comes from the same promo:

In response to Terri, Ken Bass said something like… ‘yeah, that’d be a little weird BOB??!?!’

Serious. Fun.

It’s cheap spots day

IdahoRadio | November 4, 2004

Journal Broadcast Group is doing it’s annual “advertiser appreciation day” today, giving advertisers (current and potential) discounted rates on 1st quarter buys — giving JBG extra revenue before the year closes.

Bob Rosenthal voiced spots that are running on the Boise JBG stations.

Politics and radio

IdahoRadio | November 4, 2004

Seen on election night: KRVB’s Teri Tate was the emcee of the Democrat’s election night party. She repeatedly noted she was ‘Teri Tate from The River, but the real reason I’m here is because I’m a member of district 19.’ And ostensibly, a Democrat. Tate was on crutches and had a large brace on her left leg.

Over at GOP HQ, a reporter from BSU Radio was seen drinking wine while working. Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I don’t think state workers should drink on the job. I also don’t think ‘Journalists’ should drink on the job. Maybe those two things cancel out.

Maybe not.
