that is absolutley correct sir.a larger market is where its at, and if you are good, you don't get vt'd, especially nights on a chr, that is a bread winner. You make more doing nights in a top 50 market than you do in ANY shift in a smaller market too! If mornings in a small market is sooo good, then tell me one thing, why are night show commercials more money than morning drive spots in boise? hmmm. your just mad your stuck in a below 100 market and out of your radio prime. dont you need to go talk up an elton john record or something?

Ha Ha,

Looks as though "fidgit" doesnt get radio at all. I'm glad he thinks the way he does.

"I don’t really think that jumping 60 markets but going from Morning to nights is much of a promotion……."

"I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again…..Get a morning gig for a decent company, hone your craft, and you’ll always be able to find a job."

Wonder if he practices what he preaches? Obviously not, if in fact he does do mornings in Boise.

With mentality like this, it would seem he has always been in SMALL market radio and is content with not advancing his career. Or, maybe its just the fact he isn't GOOD enough to get an oppurtunity in a bigger market then Boise. also, if your good. your shift doesnt get VT'ed

I would sure take a gig paying me 40K more a year AND less workload.

Dumbass!

Do you ever notice that rats never jump onto a sinking ship?

Plus I don't buy the turnover not being very high argument. If i'm not mistaken, isn't this about the 5th or 6th change to mornings at magic since Mike Kate and Jodi left. I notice that Mike and Kate haven't changed at Mix in the entire time. And I don't really think that jumping 60 markets but going from Morning to nights is much of a promotion.......I've said it once and I'll say it again.....Get a morning gig for a decent company, hone your craft, and you'll always be able to find a job. Night shifts get voice tracked, morning shifts are indispensible. I do wish you good luck though.

Jumping ship? Sounds like a comment from a newbie. The turnover rates at Citadel, Journal and Clear Channel are all considerably lower than they used to be. And turnover is pretty normal for CHRs, anyway.

And just a side observation: You know the people who tell you they're getting out because "this company is headed in the wrong direction"? Keep track and you'll find they say the same thing every place they work. They just don't realize that their own attitude is a big part of why the company doesn't do well.

Uh, Memphis IS slightly bigger than Boise. If you want to move up and you get the chance why not? Nothing to do with working conditions at CBC, or CC, or JBG.
