When I was in college (you know, back in the day when we dealt with cue burns on 45s & Marconi was still figuring out how those pesky radio waves worked!) we got a transcript of what Charlie Tuna said in one hour of his show at KHJ. One of his liners was about more music and less talk. Of course, that was among the 14 raps he had that hours & six pages of transcript. So congrats Clear Channel, you've graduated to 1970s tricks!

It's really no different than saying "More music and less talk, even though we're gonna talk about how little we talk every chance we get." Smoke and mirrors...we've all been part of it at some point.

Broc Says,

"The industry in itself is nothing more than a perception trick. If they can perceive the fact that they’re not talking about, by talking about it.. more power to ‘em. Says another radio friend, “the idea is psychological negation, drawing attention to something by insisting you won’t try to draw attention to it. it works surprisingly well. I’m confused now. And hungry."

This is the same concept as a huge pimple or mole. No one is suppoed to say anything but everyone notices.

Anon Says,

"Are we talking lowest common denominator? It’s nice to know that’s what Clear Channel thinks of their audience."

Exactly...unless your working on the Clear Channel Big AM station KIDO, your broadcasting to the lowest common denominator. Everyone is...

With the advent on HD Radio, Satelitte and Internet Radio over the air, analog broadcasting is becoming the 8 track of the 21st century.

Hey, how many stations does Jesus own?

I like the concept of the First Church of Clear Channel. The could have the St. Jack format.

I hope that they aren't watching while I'm in the shower. I don't wish that image on anyone.

Seriously though, I've wondered the same thing about the Mix promos. They run at least once an hour, if not more. Not that I'm bragging about my Mix 106 listening abilities.

/They need to play more Coldplay than just the new one.

The citizens will not mention the mistakes of the Clear Channel. The Clear Channel is all knowing, all seeing, and the Clear Channel loves you. Behold the Clear Channel and obey.

Remember.....the Clear Channel is watching......
