Well, when there’s three of Seattle’s finest lined up at the one on University Drive ready to go Rodney King on any trouble makers. Of course, I was about 13 years younger last time I did that, so it might not have the immense thrill factor it did then.

Of course then, you could hear Norm Gregory on KJR-FM, Charlie Brown on KUBE & the balls of Casey Keating voicing & programming 101.5 KPLZ. And in would come Tom Shane.

I do believe most of us would give our left one to have our voice running next to those voices, whether we had to pay for that right or not.

Heck, I think even the militant Ivar’s Seagulls would give up taking a fry out of somebody’s hand to have a spot running next to those voices!

I do miss driving I-5, seeing the Space Needle or Mt. Rainier out my windshield, listening to Norm Gregory or Charlie Brown on my radio, and on comes The Shane Company. OK, add in a cup of Ivar’s clam chowdah & an SBC.

The Shane Company commercials are a rite of passage in Seattle.

It’s like one of the best ways to tell you’re in Seattle. Grab a cup of SBC, sit in a traffic jam on I-5, then flip on the radio & wait for the Shane Company commercial to air.
