I had a lady come up to me once and say “I thought you’d be old and pudgy!” I didn’t know whether to be glad that I wasn’t…or depressed that I sound that way!

Sorry Don! I promised so I must tell the story, even though I doubt anyone cares. Yes most people think that Big J is a little guy. I didnÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t start out in radio with the intent on making it a career. I was an avid listener of the Byl and Doug show, and began to call the show responding to bits and doing my best to kill work time. I called in one day and let loose on a tirade that only Ian could dream of, and after I finally shut up Byl and Doug asked if I wanted to be there sports guy. I said why not, I came in the first morning and right before we went on they asked me what I wanted to be called. I just assumed they would use my given name. I guess it was too boring, so I thought about it for a second. IÃ¢â‚¬â„¢m big, and my name starts with a J, Ya how about Big J, it sounds sporty. Bye the time I had decided to join the crazy fraternity of radio the name was something my old PD wouldnÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t let me get away from. There thatÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s how I became Big JÃ¢â‚¬Â¦..why the heck did this make it on to IRN?
