You can say what you want, about cc, but any company with that much money and resources would worry me if I was competing with them. I don't know if anyone has even noticed how much they've changed locally over the past 4 or 5 years. 5 years ago they only had 2 staions in the top ten, they were third in revenue and each station only had one or maybe one shift live. Now, I believe 3 of their station are in the top 7, and those three have great sales demo's (KIDO, LITE & MIX). They are now 2nd in revenue and all their stations have live shows with a couple having at least 2 or 3 shifts live. Sometimes change happens so slowly that by the time you realize it it's too late.

I don't think KIZN or KQFC will drop out of the top 10, but within 2 years, you won't see them both in the top 5 anymore....maybe one but not both, and the days of being number 1 with and 8 or 9 share I' m pretty sure are over. Plus, as I said in other posts, changes in format aren't always made just for the success of that one station......I think that this country format will do better than Kool. It will never be number one, probably not even in the top five, but it will bring in more revenue than KOOL was and in the bigger picture, how will it help all the other CC formats. I definately think LITE KIDO and MIX will all see a bump up the ranking ladder....maybe not in ratings, but at least rankings, especially in the ever popular and lucritive 25 to 54 year old dem which would greatly I would guess, increase revenue for the cluster. My point is, that we all have to stop thinking in terms of just that one station, and instead focus on how that one format change will affect the rest of the stations, not just in thier own group, but the rest of the clusters as well.

Rumor has it is Don Jarrett (He was with KIZN for 6 years before taking a gig in SLC) was in the running for afternoons on My Country, but, he got a fat new contract in SLC to keep him put. CC missed out on a great opportunity to stick it to Kissin' 92! Oh well....wonder who else they're looking at for a live and local DJ.

To answers Booster's question, KAIN was the former call of 1340, now 1350/KTIK. It's tower and studio were south of Nampa somewhere.
