I remember working on what is now a former oldies station in a certian capital city of Idaho, right after we got the “Not for” prophet system. I was inserting a weather forcast and messed up, said a few colorful metaphors, and re-recorded. I should have known that system was totally unstable… Well, it went on the air… DOH!!! I promptly presented my tush for a spanking… luckily a cane was not used.

I hear the F word on the radio all the time. Because I listen to alot of satillite. They dont cut the cuss words out of the songs.

Jac, has hit on something (pardon the pun) Sexual harrasement as a radio format… The Jerry Springer of radio programming, The socially correct evolution of howard stern… Think of the potential, morning show hosts calling up strangers to hit on them, I could go on but its the future…. Go for it Cheap Channel…. you got nothing to lose now.

Just my theory….but don’t you think if a station actually lets you take callers live in this day and age, then they would have a delay? And if they have a delay why would you need to say don’t cuss?

I love hearing all the stories though. When I first started I did overnight weekends on a station and the gm would alwyas come in at 3am completely trashed and hit on me. And one time I was on the air and he stood right in front of me so I couldn’t see anything or reach the buttons (yeah I didn’t stay there long). So I got off the air and yelled, and realized the mic was on, but thanks goodness I don’t really cuss. Although no one listened to that station so I guess it didn’t really matter. :)

Don, well of course they are going to deny that they said it and that you are crazy. While working at a country station in the valley several years ago, the morning guy returned from one of his wonderful encounters with the GM who was certified crazy (thats another story) Angry as hell, and unable to reach out and touch them… He proceeded to go back to the studio where he played, the song Rock My World Little Country Girl…. Each time he played it, he would surgically, pot down or off the end of the TRY on the Country…. no one ever called but there was a great deal of humor bewteen the DJ and the news guy who knew what was going on….. Never can listen to that stupid song without that memory coming to pass again….. So now its all back as My CUN-TRY 104 point Three…. get my point….
