Well, I’ve never “heard” of Emerson Drive, so I’ll have to let that hack to the right of me beat me to the buzzer.

But if the John Waldo is a separate question, my guess would be John Waldo is Goddaddy to Richard Marx’s shorties.

But I am a little confused about John Waldo’s stage name. He gone by both Fee Waybill when he fronts The Tubes, but he also comes out as Fee’s alter ego Quay Lude. I believe that’s during their “White Punks On Dope” era. Personally, I prefer The Completion Backward Principle to Outside Inside.
