Okay SpudFan… I haven’t been on the air for 3 or 4 years so you may be right… Like I give a fuzzy rat’s! Were you losing sleep over this for the past 3 months since I posted or did you wake up at 3:03 this morning needing to bitch at someone? Gary G. I love the “people here actually listen to the radio.” What the *&^% does that mean? Radio listenership is at an all time low here. Thank God someone like Miggy does something, anything, on the air…check out the fabulous front and back announcing on most every station here. Radio is suffering a slow painful death. Keep doing what you’re doing Miggy, improve and take your skills to a market that matters.

and just my opinion…evan…you are MUCH better as a solo jock than you were in the am…just my thougths…you are freakin talented…but for some reason it just wasn’t “the same” when you were in the am. not dissin…just my thoughts. Congrats.

First of all, it’s you’re.

Secondly, I think you can recycle bits as long as maybe it’s months later, and it’s relevant. I don’t think you can do an indepth spot but something about a song you’re about to play or something.

Thirdly (and this is not criticizing Miggie? Miggy? at all) but when I first heard he started at Magic I just ASSUMED it was a woman. One thing we don’t need in this town is another male jock. There is nooo way I would have taken Valentine out of afternoons, I would have hired a female middayer. It’s a CHR station with one morning show female, and no others. Does that seem weird to anyone else?

There is nothing wrong with recycling bits. If it’s new to them the 2nd time it played, it’s new to them. If they heard the same thing already – then they, as a listener, can say to their friend “Oh, listen to this, he’s gonna call Burger King, it’s hilarious.” or whatever the bit was, I can’t hear Magic on this side of Idaho.

It’s kind of like peppering ‘Best Of’ elements throughout every day shows… which might not be a bad idea so we don’t just talk about anything non-promotional or talk about what artists are coming up soon as the break.

Then again, my market isn’t ranked so what do I know?

Miggy…I agree w/ Don. If the hour separation is enough than maybe it would be ok. I would even consider playing it days or weeks later in a different hour. Morning shows repeat bits later in the morning or the next day and that is fine but you have to keep track of when you played the bit.

Gary G…I kinda disagree with you a little. Yes, markets differ a bit but nobody listens to the radio the way “we” do, even in Boise. If we think they do we are kidding ourselves. The truth is some people on this board may not be in radio but that fact that they post on here puts them in the category of a “radio person” and they listen differently. Kim, who has 2 young kids and goes to her 9-5 Monday through Friday has better things to do with her time than keep track of what she heard on the radio. She is just now figuring out who Fallout Boy is.

Miggy, I haven’t heard you on the air but it sounds like your trying to do some stuff so keep it up.

ok……rich summers a great OM? hmmmmmm…miggy, i used to do mornings there, there are some good people and some bad eggs in that building…all i gotta say is BE CAREFUL! i had rich and kevin try to stop me from leaving to do nights in memphis, they told me that nights in top 40 radio are gonna go away and nights arent important, and that i was making a mistake by leaving, that id be laid off in a year or so if i did nights in a top 50 market…..well, i didnt, and now im in Detroit…market 9 doin nights and making more than rich summers…the moral of the story…have fun, watch your back, and get mike owens shots whenever he asks, because hes the man! love ya mike!
