Fisher focuses on TV
Don Day | May 31, 2006Seattle-based Fisher Communications is selling its radio assets in Washington and Montana — with the exception of three frequencies in the Seattle market.
24 stations are part of the deal – to Cherry Creek. Fisher will pick up $33-million bucks. They aren’t unloading the TV stations, which in Idaho include KBCI-TV and and KUNS-LP (channel 35) in Boise, as well as KLEW-TV/Lewiston and KIDK-TV/Idaho Falls.
(Thanks, Oldtimer!)
Updated: I don’t know how to spell “Fisher,” apparently.

Ohhhh Don! You closed the thread when it was just getting interesting on the Jon Stewart piece…. Obviously there is some passion concerning the state of TV in Boise. It’d be cool if you gave us the chance to “express and pontificate” about the product sometime…
Gary,
I’ve taken some heat for closing that thread. I can’t be impartial on the subject of local TV, for obvious reasons. Since I’ve got the task of moderating the threads – I cannot make neutral decisions in that field. I’m employed by a TV station, and my promise is that this site won’t cover that part of the industry in any depth.
This site is not a profit center. In fact, I spend a couple hundred bucks a year to keep it going – not to mention my time. Channel 7 provides me with a pay check every two weeks – so when push comes to shove — push it is. Or shove. Whichever.
