Okay… I can see that what I said might have made it sound like Collins was the “Know It All” I was referring to. However, that’s not the context in which my statement was meant to be taken as. My statement was directed toward “RadioKnowItAll” on the East Idaho Radio boards. We all know who that person is… right, Scott? Your secret is safe with me and JWR. Don’t worry.

For those who thought that, I apologize for not being clearer.

Is anybody losing their jobs over the numbers in I.F.? I didn’t think so… in 28 years I never saw myself or a coworker canned “because of the book” that includes 15 of those years in market #4… the book is for sales and if you have a good contract, performance bonuses! Other than that you guys are looking kinda silly firing shots over the bow because of how one guy interprets over the other. One thing I did learn in SE Idaho is that in an effort to keep the quality of life in the area, you’ll probably end up working at one or two of the other places in town so as a wise man once said, “Be very careful cuz the toes you’re stepping on today may be connected to the ass you kiss tomorrow.”

I know how it works , when you’re on top everybody’s out to get ya…that’s ok I understand the jealousy… but sadly, since we are only rated once per year, you’ll have to live with it for like another 348 days…hope it doesn’t drive you to drink or something!

Scott, speaking of eating crow I remember the thread where you insisted that The Hawk would take years to get decent ratings. Guess you aren’t such a “Know It All” after all. Would you like ketchup with that crow?

Enjoy your skewed ratings for Arrow 107 while you can. Any broadcasting company dumb enough to take a great station and turn it into Sunny 94.3 will find a way to screw things up before too long.

…and the hating continues… Bonneville county is Bonneville County, yes not big but approx. 91,000 now (according to the census), I guess that doesn’t mean anything…and I suppose only time will tell on what Arrow 107 will do once it gets upgraded to reach Blackfoot and Pocatello (I’m sure it will continue to suck just like in Bonneville County)…hope some of you enjoy crow…mmmm, crow…yummy! Yeah, Nicolino… I’m not a Sandhill employee. Never was one. Neither was JWR. I’m just a Bonneville “We Could Cut The Small Market” Communications left-over. Not to worry… I won’t be in the market after next Thursday. Speaking of which, Dale Desmond at The Hawk is looking for a new morning show host. If anyone’s interested, send a check and a resume to him.

Now, you’ve constantly posted this crud on other websites, claiming this is the key demo. No hating… seriously, between Holmes and Woodruff on 17th street for Adults 34+, you guys rule!

I highly doubt that when you get a signal that goes outside Bonneville county, you’ll be able to sniff anyone’s jock.

Like I said, I won’t be in the market after next Thursday. I just remember some “Know It All” stating that it would take The Hawk “years and years” to be the number one country station in the area. Once Collins went to Boise, it allowed Mike Curtis and I to direct the station in the way it should have been going in the beginning. What happened? The Hawk is now the #1 country station in East Idaho. Our accomplishments aren’t going to be trivialized.

C. Daye is EXACTLY right. Ratings don’t mean jack…in either radio or television. With a program like Media Audit, or Tapscan, or the one he mentions, it’s all in how you spin it. If you can’t find a single number SOMEWHERE that makes your station look good…you’re either not trying very hard, or you really, really stink. And let’s remember the root of all evils…the numbers come from Arbitron or Nielsen (depending on what you’re in). Their methodologies are so ancient, archaic, and outdated it’s a complete farce how the data gets compiled in the first place. The best thing any radio station could do in any market anywhere?? Quit paying for crap data. Insist on the development of a legitimate ratings methodology. Give folks like Scott a lot less bul@*$& to hide behind.

By the way Scott…have you ever heard of the class radio ratings principle of “Kicks and Kisses”? Someone always gets kissed in a book, and someone always gets kicked. Enjoy your kiss while you can, but don’t get too cocky…the kick might be only a new ratings period away…..

Notice how to spell my last name so you can do it correctly next time. What’s up with all the haters out there? There are 7 or so good stations in East Idaho…Arrow 107 is only one of them! How about a little love? Man, tough crowd. Glad the Eastlan ratings went to all the Arrow lovers out there and not you haters this time around! All avaliable stations in East Idaho were used when sorting the ratings out, and yes it’s for Bonneville county ONLY because Arrow does not have a signal outside of that. Soon enough Arrow will be in Blackfoot and Pocatello and the ratings at that point in time will speak for themselves, so then all you haters will have nothing left to complain about. Arrow had an excellent book! Arrow may never have that strong of a book again… but for now it rules Bonneville county all day long! Man, so much negativity…cant we all just get along…no one is bashing your stations, why the need to bash others…hmmm…must all be former Sand Hill Media employees…
