Two for tea-time
Don Day | June 29, 2006KZMG/Magic 93.1 is now pairing Miggy Santos and Matty each evening from 5pm-7pm. Matty then goes solo for the 7, 8 and 9pm hours.
Good idea.
What I don’t really understand is why a pop station is going jockless from 10-midnight during the summer. It’s almost as if they are willing to deliver the young audience to KSAS (albeit a voicetracked KSAS) or the always inventive Ian at KQXR at the early hour. It’s still lights out – and the station is on auto-pilot…
I’m not 100%, but I think Matty is part-time. Maybe they’re just trying to save some money. Either on the couple of hours or having to provide insurance.
Thanks Don. From now on when my parents ask me “why I ever got into such a stupid career as radio”, I will respond, “Because I’m always inventive”.
