Hard to tell if the nearby station has over 107 dBu in strength (I read on a website). I have to get a mile or two out and find a sensitive set to hear them. I litened to the ballgame the night the power went and the storm was so crazy...I was mad, though that nobody at KBOI bothered follow up on the EAS and can the talk feed while I was searching in vain for AA batteries to power a set with FM (channel six too) unsuccessfully and dealing with a rotary phone to call Idaho Power (lucky that the voice activated version of the system was still going for a while) as it got darker and I had no flashlights...

KIDO was just as bad, but Boise was next anyway.

This is why EAS is a joke.Even if you didn't accidentally broadcast a test concerning missiles or something. 200 miles of coverage maybe on a good day and you cannot serve us when our own signal is inoperative.

Please do much better?
