If more of the US car radios had RDS recievers with the TA or TP features, radio pirates could have a field day switching the stations on peoples radios to thier signal. If the traffic feature on most RDS radios is activated, it even works if your radio is off, or if you are listening to a CD. That is how the pirates do it in Europe. Good Times.

It is cool to see that some of the stations are using more of the capabilities of RDS. This is one way for stations to partially compete with satellite radio. Having the artist and song title come up on the display is one of the cool things about XM. I've also seen one station broadcasting the temperature on the RDS display. That's also a good idea. And for KLCE to be able to switch listeners to the translator when they drive into Pocatello is also very slick. I don't know what's holding RDS back, but it's taking forever to catch on. I've had it in my car for five years now.

"Former East Idahoan," I'm trying to figure out who you are ... thanks for the message. Maybe send Don an email and he can give you my email address?
