Could Big Jack have fallen overboard, or been abandoned at some foreign port? Was foul play involved? Maybe. But what if he has been here all along, lying low, waiting. Waiting for the chance to STRIKE! Something fishy is definitely going on aroud here.

The questions plague us all: Is he here, or is he gone? Is he gonna land a fat gig on an FM station? Hmmm.

I'll believe some of these arguments if I actually ever see KDJQ show up with any ratings.....let alone #1.....even if that's #1 50 plus.

According to other knowledgable morons in other cities, Boise is a mediocre market that can't really reflect well in books.

Of course, I look at San Fransisco and see KFRC is an FM now, KGO a talk station, KABL an Internet stream, KYA long gone in spirit and that leaves Free FM KIFR (maybe it left them) the Quake has a stream from GERMANY (and gay programming that I haven't heard any gay people actually like)...on and on. No wonder the best radio in the Bay Area is in an online museum!

You can argue about ratings but wake up the proof is being broadcast, not logged.

Then does that mean, the Stateman has an older audience just like an Oldies station - all with time on their hands?

I remember a time when I was still at Magic 93.1 when on their website they listed "Who is your favorite DJ?" So on a lark, I asked some friends of mine to log onto the website & vote for me. When the poll was closed, I was #2 behind Scooter B!!

And Big Jack and company have been around long enough to know that winning a local poll is like wetting your pants in a warm suit - it gives you a warm feeling, and nobody notices!!

I hope for everybody at KDJQ, this also translates into Arbitron numbers come the next book. I think we'd all love to see Big Jack & company give an "I told you so!!" finger to the 104.3 frequency.

But this has nothing to do with "the stations that are all fat and blown up are inneffective at getting their listeners to care at all about them or their advertisers." It came down to ratings and money, that simple.

And before you start screaming about local this & grassroots that, explain to me again why the waiting list to get into new chain restaurant P.F. Chang's was a week long, and The Great Dragon on Fairview has to BEG for customers! Or why Walmart can have the WORST business practices in the universe, and I constantly see 5 trillion cars in their parking lot. Or when Edwards Theatre built their 21 parking spaces theatres, nobody stood up for the "local" theaters that ended up going out of business!!

Best of luck KDJQ.
