And, the house is in Caldwell. So any responsible promotion would include Kevlar vests for the winners. What they don’t tell you is that the house is actually a teeny little cracker box…but valued at $200,000 because it has bulletproof glass for windows and steel siding for the outside. Fort Knox, I tell you…without the gold, of course!

If this an insured contest, at least it sounds like they’re doing it right….apparently everyone who doesn’t win a house wins something…..like $500 gift cards, free Jewlry, I think I even heard an inteli-bed worth $2000 or something, etc…..the other stations that I’ve heard do similar contest, usually everyone walks away with nothing!

By the way, this house give away is a little different than the HGTV give away….this house is not worth 5 million dollars, so the property taxes won’t be 25 to 30 thousand a year……that is what the winners of those houses couldn’t afford….the property taxes, not the taxes on thier winnings……

Anyone want to bet me that, if someone DOES win the house, they never live in it, once they see what the tax bill would be?

I say the winner puts it up for sale, as has happened almost every year with HGTV’s house contest.
