Jack,
Will you return to the 3PM to 7PM slot at KDJQ?
If so when?
If not, why not?

You are so right DOODE. I've been gone for the last 11 days hosting and co-producing the 14th annual Oldies Caribbean Cruise. Just got back last night. I also took a week or so off after the Rockin' News Years Eve Party (which I've done for years). ALLS WELL, don't anybody panic. Basically it was a month long vacation/pre-'Motorfest/early 1st quarter personal time off. No more, no less! But there will be those who read things into it.

Thanks DOODE ... appreciate it!

Yeah, Twin is the only place left -- in Idaho anyway -- still attempting to play what they consider to be Super Hits (and I am only referring to CC stations...not K-Hits in Boise who actually does a pretty good job I think). Like I said earlier, Bryan Adams to Rolling Stones, Bangles to the Beach Boys...?!? What the...??

I also noticed a GIGANTIC hole where Big Jack used to be on KDJQ...his absence can't be just a super-LONG vacation can it? I know he does the Oldies Caribbean Cruise every year which -- if memory serves me -- is sometime around end of Jan early Feb, but he has already been gone for a mighty long time. IF KDJQ let Jack go, that would be almost as bad as CC letting him go (but not quite as stupid)...they couldn't make THAT moronic of a decision so soon after landing him in the first place...or can they?

Where are they even playing a "super hit" format anymore? Oh that's right... Twin Falls is the only one left.

I would argue that not a SINGLE Superhits station in Idaho run by CC could be clearly categorized as Oldies -- at least not by the traditional definition. Since when did playing Bryan Adams constitute Oldies? For that matter, how does playing 'Summer of '69' back-to-back with 'Honky Tonk Woman' by The Stones be considered good programming? If it were playing a variation of the Jack FM format, maybe it'd make sense, but sometimes you just gotta wonder...'Walk Like An Egyptian' followed up by 'Surfin' USA'??? Come ON...somebody tell those guys that doesn't make ANY freakin' sense...

I always liked the airstaff and broad playlist of KMGI (can you say 'MORE THAN 375 TITLES' KKGL and KJOT?), but noticed the spotload was really light, especially in evenings.

did you ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe kmgi isn't doing so well? that could be the reason for the switch?

Their oldies blend had moved STRONGLY into the 1980s recently. I just hope they kept around the local staff. In the past they have so hopefully so. That means the southern half of eastern Idaho isn't really with an 'oldies' station now. I guess KMGI was just doing too well. ;-)

Idaho Falls-Rexburg-Blackfoot will still have access to KGTM 98.1 and their "boomer" oldies format.
