Sutton, Owens leaving Citadel?

Don Day | March 18, 2007

Multiple sources tell Idaho Radio News that Citadel Boise general manager Mike Owens and director of sales Mike Sutton are leaving the company.

This comes on amid a flurry of personnel changes amid the management ranks of Clear Channel and Citadel – with Clear Channel OM Jeff Cochran heading for the door, former Citadel Boise GM Kevin Godwin leaving his VP post in Colorado Springs, and LOTS of speculation surrounding others.

Haven’t those people including Mike and Mike been waving the wonderful Citadel banner and telling us how wonderful Citadel is and has been. So what is really going. Does make you wonder about credibility?

Citadel has been Mike, Mike and Kevin for all these years. There new management team is the old Citadel. I don’t get it, Citadel is the color of your paycheck at that level. The people you work for is what really matters here.

All this career turbulance will give up and coming radio group builders like Dave Tester of Tester Broadcasting a chance to pick up some good experienced talent at the expence of his competitiors…..

Has anyone thought about the fact that MAYBE just maybe some of their exit strategies…. mean they are headed for Testor’s new to be radio group including KSRV, KTPZ, KAYN, ? Its speculation on my part…. It could be a boon to Dave….

The laugh could be on CC and Citadel…
