Hey folks — because of copyright we can’t copy and paste news from other sites here. An excerpt is fine, but dumping the whole thing on can be a problem. I removed a comment above that basically states that KAYN has changed its calls to KQLZ and is picking up Scott Shannon’s True Oldies Channel format, but will stay live in the morning and afternoon. They are branding as “Idaho’s Oldies” according to R&R

Idaho’s Oldies? Hmmm… Sounds familiar. Maybe it’s because another station in Boise already uses that slogan. Let the Arbitron confusion begin.

‘Scott Shannon’s “True Oldies” comes to Boise. The new KQLZ (which are the old Pirate Radio calls from Shannon’s one-time LA station) debuts on the former KAYN (100.7) in Idaho’ – from Today’s Radio-Info news column.

So what’s happened to Big Jack and the gang?

Great station if it would just not stop and go so many times. Tone Jack was great but has gotten bace into the 104 routine thank god you can tune them out. Brian’s laugh is terrible. he can not be that simple.

The reincarnation of the oldies in the Boise market is a true testament to the fact that oldies is not DEAD! The baby boomer is still the one carrying the financial load of this country to the tune of around 67%. Oldies is “Americana”..and is an institution in this country. “Boomer” (100.7) thank you for coming back with Jack and Brian. Here’s wishing those that dropped the format a year and a half ago all end up “super sizing” at Burger King, where most of them should be working anyway.
