If you found A CLOCKWORK ORANGE, it was Walter, not Wendy. The sex change came after that work was done.

In my opinion, The music is already paid for by usage and under contract to most media companies.

This is a ploy to stop internet radio stations and stream rippers from re-releasing copyrighted material on the Internet. This is also an opportunity for the record companies to charge radio stations for the same product twice.

As long as someone has one computer's audio card looped into any other audio source, music piracy will be a daily part of the technological life.

The Says...

“I found *Walter* Carlos A Clockwork Orange…”

You may be interested to know that Walter Carlos has been WENDY Carlos for many years now, having undergone a sex change operation some time after A Clockwork Orange was released.

The More You Know…"

Here's more info on that subject...

"Weird" Al Yankovic also produced an adaptation of "Peter and The Wolf" composed by WENDY/Walter Carlos with the ever-so-famous, MOOG Electric Organ.

Insert NBC's "The More You Know" tag-line OUT!…

...why do I know this obscure musical reference??...

I think this attempt to get terrestrial radio to pay royalties on airplay may invoke the Law of Inintended Consequences.

Between this and the attempt to radically increase the royalty paid by Internet radio, I think we may see an increase in the amount of "independent" music played on terrestrial and Internet stations.

I suspect the artists supporting the musicFirst initiative may be unpleasantly surprised by the result.

I was aware of that. I hope it's the SQ pressing she hates also because I only have 4 quad records I know of and 2 are CD-4. I've been to her life pages a few times.

Be thankful that radio plays your music. If the public had no exposure to it, they would not care about it, nor would they PURCHASE it. Oh, and by the way, why are you worried about people recording your music from overly-processed analog radio (not to mention overly-processed digital radio), and lousy 48 or 96k internet radio streams? Give me a break. People want better audio quality, and with a little poking around on the internet, they can find it. Appreciate what radio can do for you, and use it to your advantage.

Still recording?
Not hurting
Who's bar is he at?
Don't see her retiring soon
I haven't a clue

Those who were silly enough to let it get to this needn't expect any pennyfarthings with their Darwin Award.

digital this n that
downloads
IBOQ the gift that gives back
17.00 CD prices for crap with one song (on vinyl it's called a "cutout" and sent to liquidation)

If you wonder if your prince will come, he held out and got his own terms.

I found *Walter* Carlos A Clockwork Orange and Isao Tomita's LP of Holst's The Planets last week, with Kenny Rogers with/without the First Edition and other fun stuff at that thrift also. Couldn't find the Red Seal LP of Tomita's "Firebird" (darn, I preferred it to Chariots of Fire played 1,000 times at the record store claiming that digital was cool). Tomita wasn't brittle and overly bright, I haven't heard a really worthy copy of COF yet.
