Rocket, I don't live in the market so I can't comment on the station, but frankly your opinion and mindset are screwed-up! WIth so many IPODS and internet where people can get music, it makes sense to counter-program with something ENTERTAINING that you can't get there! The reason radio is failing is because so many PD's decided to program the same damn songs, use liner cards and delete any kind of personality. Personality is more than 10 second talk-overs and voice-tracks. Personality is what attracts listeners. I am hoping the industry is learning this fact. I program a station where yes, I make my jocks follow a clock, but if they have something resonable to say, I will NEVER hotline them even if they drop a song to talk about something pertinent for 2-3 minutes. Guess what? I probably have the highest TSL in the market. People tune into listen to what the hell I have to say and what my jocks do as well, and if the "X" and other stations are going back to personality and local interaction (which orginally made radio), maybe there is a prayer that we won't loose our shirts in the future. Those who want music-intensive formats and no talk-overs should hold up a white flag right here and now! Grab your IPOD and stop bitching!

Sorry guys, but I disagree.. I listen to a MUSIC station for MUSIC.. The X used to be my favorite station, but I can't stand all the TALK lately.. I have to rely on CD's and my mp3 player now if I want to hear any music.. People might want talk in the morning, but after work, after school, after a day's worth of TALKING, people want to chill, groove, rock (whatever you want to call it) to MUSIC.. Just my ever to be humble opinion..

I have to admit. The X sounds a lot better then it did back in 95 and 96. I remembering listening to The X back then and wondering if it will ever a good station. It sounded worse then average. But now it sounds just as good as X96 in Salt Lake City. I will talk to you all later.
By the way, What did you all think of The X when Pirate Radio was on it back in the day?
