Robin Scott: everywhere

Don Day | November 3, 2007

Robin Scott is everywhere. The long time Clear Channel/Peak Broadcasting talent is heard all over the Boise radio dial, filling a wide variety of roles:

- PM traffic on KCIX, KSAS, KAWO, KXLT, KIDO and KFXD
- News reporter for KIDO
- Evening host for KAWO/Wow Country 104.3
- Song tag voice for KAWO
- Heard on a variety of Peak-produced spots

While most folks on the content side of the dial take on a bunch of roles these days, it’s hard to listen to any Peak-owned station without hearing Robin’s voice.

It’s easy to see why they use her so much – Robin is very versatile and very friendly!

I would say that Robin’s killin’ em!

I was wondering if Cochran recruited her to tag the songs for the new “My Country 105.7″ too.

IRB… Why did you have to got to the Cochran card? Don’t you know he is still a CC dude, and Peak is firmly ensconsed now? Most of the CC deamons have been cast from the building, except when you bring it up. She does a fine job! And is one helluva singer to boot!

Any of us who have worked with Robin know a woman who is easy to get along with, have a good laugh with, and is a pro at what she does. And all those years she had to put up with KEN BASS! LOL Stripes, you’re right, she has a magnificent singing voice. I hope you get paid by the station, Robin! Miss ya…

One does not belch from ones lungs. That comes from the stomach. just a tip from Dr. Wrabbitt.

True Wrabbitt, but indeed, it is an art that takes both lung capacity and stomach volume. One to generate said belch, the other to push it forth. With Robin’s amazing pipes for singing, one can easily understand how she is as equally amazing in belching a tune as she is in singing it! ;) In all seriousness, she is an awesome person who deserves all the accolades she is receiving here.

Perhaps Peak can send Robin down to American Idol for a belch-off contest with Paula Abdul! Both can lay down some impressive belches before they sing, and Simon could judge! THAT would be some high-quality TV.

uh, Mr. Dave Arthur, sir. Robin did not “put up with” me years ago. She actually PAID for the opportunity to work with me.
    Ohhhhh….how she paid.
    poor girl.
(See, Dave, I don’t need you to slam me. I can do it myself.)
Oh, and Tommy, I do know how you love women with great lungs!

Now mix a fine lager or stout in the mix and you have a mix for a belch that is sure to please even the biggest critic. As I recall I believe she does enjoy the occasional adult beverage from time to time.

OK, I was only kidding about Robin working at Buster’s & Hooters in her spare time. But, if she can belch a tune with strong resonance and stay on tune, it kind of turns me on. Is she single?
Any chance of a belching album in the near future?

Ken… you’re right, I’m sure it was more like you putting up with her belching, but I paid her to do that as often as possible. Actually, you and I BOTH owe Robin alot for putting up with both of us.

On the topic of belching, Melissa Dawn is also a belching champion… While working with both Melissa and Robin at the same time I have to admit to chiming in with them. So much so that I had to really remember NOT to burp out loud when I took my next job at Air 1 !!! They were such a bad influence on me!

Oh, I am SOOOO gonna bookmark this page for when I’m having a bad day! I’m laughing and crying (and belching) all at the same time because I miss working with all of you (the ones I’ve identified) so much! Can you believe Xmas Eve ‘07 will be 19 YEARS for me? And I’ve known some of you for almost that long (Ken?!?-congrats on the bambino, BTW)! This is so great. Thank you all, I am humbled (and I’ve probably learned most of what I’ve learned from you–and my dad, but that’s a different story)!

And (here comes the plug), I sing at Orphan Annie’s in Caldwell about every other Saturday night 7-11p (like this Saturday, 11/17! and 12/1, 12/8 & 12/22. Very casual, kids are allowed). Come see if I’m really as hot as my pic (thank you, Don, for using the good one–Simpsonized me is pretty good, too), and Wrabbit, I am married (but sometimes he does smell like cheese). I’ll belch, too, but not on the mic.

Buster Bronco, LMAO. I’ll make sure Melissa knows her name got dragged in on this–DAVE. Thanks again, you guys, this really means so much to me!

Dang!!! Every time I am attracted to a beautiful woman she ends up being married. I guess I’ll just have to admire her from Little Orphan Annie’s. Got friends?
    Happy Croaking.

HA-ha… Robin, In September my wife and I were in Caldwell for an event I was emceeing and we decided to go hear another good friend who sings at Orphan Annies. (Katie Webb, Bob “Tip” Goss’ wife … I knew them when I was doing radio in San Francisco and San Jose, then they moved to Idaho and I followed soon after to work at KIZN) Anyway, we pulled in the driveway at OA’s and I called to see if Katie was singing that night, the young girl who answered the phone said, “No, Katie’s not singing tonight.” “It’s some lady named Robin that plays the violin.” We didn’t want to hear violin music so we headed back home to Fruitland. YOU PLAY THE VIOLIN??? I know you’re a great vocalist and now I also know that I can stop at Orphan Annie’s no matter which Saturday it is!

Well, that’s funny. No, I don’t play the violin! There is another gal that does, but her name is not Robin. So who knows who was really there that night. Yes, I know Katie (and Tip)! She or the violin gal usually do the Saturdays I don’t. Small world! And my hubby (Rob) brings along the guitar and we do some really cool stuff (pop/rock/country/standards). The guy that’s there every Friday and Saturday and plays keyboards/bass/drum machine is Tom Lowe. So I sing, he plays, and Rob joins in w/guitar when he can come out to Caldwell.

I’m pretty much there indefinitely, on the Saturdays I can. It’s at the corner of Everett & Kimball, for anyone who doesn’t know. And I can be bad with faces sometimes, so, to anyone who comes out, especially if I haven’t seen you in a long time or if you’ve changed your appearance (or if I have never met you), don’t just assume I’ll recognize you! Yeah, Jim, Fruitland is on the way, so swing by sometime! That’d be awesome! Plus, the food is great, so there’s that, if nothing else…

Or, Caldwell is on the way to Fruitland. But I suppose that depends on which way you were going to begin with.
