Robin Scott: everywhere

Don Day | November 3, 2007

Robin Scott is everywhere. The long time Clear Channel/Peak Broadcasting talent is heard all over the Boise radio dial, filling a wide variety of roles:

- PM traffic on KCIX, KSAS, KAWO, KXLT, KIDO and KFXD
- News reporter for KIDO
- Evening host for KAWO/Wow Country 104.3
- Song tag voice for KAWO
- Heard on a variety of Peak-produced spots

While most folks on the content side of the dial take on a bunch of roles these days, it’s hard to listen to any Peak-owned station without hearing Robin’s voice.

Gold in the River

Don Day | November 3, 2007

Check this out: KRVB/Idaho’s 94.9 The River has a page with several audio files pulled together by long-time mid-day host Rochelle (the only KFXJ/KF-95 alum still on the station). River sessions from Nicklecreek, Barenaked Ladies, Anna Nalick, Lyle Lovett and Patty Griffin are featured. Fun fact: BNL would buy heaters for the Boise River if they had a million dollars.

Oh, and if you are even a tiny bit crafty, you’ll figure out how to grab the tracks and slap them in your iPod.

Who’s got stuff?

Don Day | November 3, 2007

My new boss likes to repeat the refrain “who’s got stuff” when casting about for stories. So here’s my version – what do you have to share? It’s been a bit quiet of late – so drop me a line at idahoradio@gmail.com with your “stuff.”

Also: I’ve added back Google’s AdSense product after a three-year absence. Click if you want… any profit will go back to the $30-or-so per month in hard costs this site incurs.

Imus’ comeback

Don Day | November 1, 2007

Citadel Radio announced today it would put Don Imus on WABC-AM in New York, and across the country via syndication – similar to his former arrangement with CBS Radio and WFAN-AM.

It’s not stretch to consider that Citadel will try to put Imus on as many of its owend stations as possible. In Boise, Citadel owns two AM stations – KTIK/1350 ESPN Radio KTIK The Ticket, and KBOI/670 AM. It’s highly unlikely Citadel would flush KBOI’s last beachhead of local programming in the morning drive. Imus used to hold down the morning slot on KTIK – the only non-sports program on the channel. Currently KTIK has ESPN show Colin Cowherd in the morning slot.
