Someone actually did this in Las Vegas. He bought and hour of time and filled it entirely with :30 and :60 spots. I say we buy and hour of time and fill it with 1,200 blinklets. And how about running in morning drive so we can annoy the most listeners possible.

Now THERE is a revenue source.

We can also have a contest at the end the hour. Anyone who can name all 1,200 spots in a row without making a mistake gets a bright, shiny penny (gotta watch that bottom line, ya know and maximize those profits).

I remember your talk show as well as Barrett Rainey’s. I miss them both and wish we could find a station that would make it possible for an all local talk radio station.
Former State Senator Rachel Gilbert, (R – Boise), once said, “The exchange of ideas is the wonderful sound of freedom.” With all the corporate control on media and other entities, I’m beginning to think freedom is becoming an endangered species.

I hope things work out for this person. You are right, there are lots of us who would like to be back on doing a talk show. Most don’t have the money to buy the time.

I think it possible the people doing this have agents or businesses willing to pay stations for hiring the talent. However, I salute the people who are gutsy enough to get agents and/or businesses to support them and believe in their abilities.
If I were a member of the employment selection committee, I would want to see proof the individual has knowledge of what they are doing and get some idea of their philosophies, reasons for doing what they are doing, and hear from them what they believe thewy have to offer me and the Boise market.
It’s a gutsy, courageous move though.

How about creating a show on something like http://www.blogtalkradio.com. Its free and there are no special downloads. They have some kind of revenue sharing program for spots that looks interesting.

I also heard that the Lifestyle Talk Radio Network might be looking for hosts (that’s brokered, I think).

Well, I make fries at McDonald’s at night after the radio gig. That must be where I gots me all confused on the pay. I make more as a french fry DJ, and shaving cats for Chinese restaurants.
