The problem with Boomer in Boise is the shadow cast over boise by the higher terrain around table rock. Once you get a little west of Boise, you are out of that shadow. So while it may be fine in Nampa or even Ontario, their signal still is very poor in much of Boise.

That's funny you say Boomer 100.7 doesn't come in well in the Boise aeria. I can get it very well in Nampa and places like that on a cheep walkman just fine. I even got it very well in Ontario not to long ago. I must have some very powerfull radios.

100.7 "The Boomer" has a far better signal in the Twin area. The booster in Boise helps for downtown, but actually hurts the signal in the 'burbs.

Besides, the oldies market in Boise is a tough one to tackle, given that KTHI "K-Hits" is such a strong player, and 1140 AM KGEM (though satellite fed) does a pretty good job covering the slightly older oldies.

It is interesting, however, that KGEM has had some better books back when it had the Original Hits format that is now on KCID AM. In fact, KCID AM wasn't far behind KGEM this book. KCID has a far weaker signal, and is located near Caldwell. Could Original Hits be a stronger format, or does the oldies satellite feed that KGEM uses just suck?
