Ratings: Time to stick a fork in one of the rockers?

KJOT/J-105 dropped to its worst performance since 2002 - with a 3.2 overall rating, while KKGL/96.9 The Eagle slipped to a 4.5. Mix in KQXR, which also fell from a 4.6 to a 3.7, and you have three rock stations with mediocre ratings (not to mention KRVB, which was up this book - but is also in the 3 point range).

Time to try something new with one of these frequencies?

I am just curious, How high was J105 when Chris Brewer was on it? Also I wonder if Deago had something to do with the ratings of The X going down when he left. He was good in the mornings. However, I have always been a fan of The X even when I thought they were a boring station during the first 2 and a half years when most of there air shifts were voice tracked. They have improved much sense then. However, I think the depart of Deago could have hurt the station a little.

12+ numbers aren’t the standard by which these stations are judged. You should know that.

Dora’s brother was part of the station’s staff?

As Tim stated, the 12+ numbers aren’t so important, and besides just because a station doesn’t have a good book doesn’t mean it’s time to do a “make over”! In my humble opinion, it goes way beyond the music of a station…I believe the talent/content plays a HUGE part…more on this at a later time.

yeh, Don, to echo Tim(like I do in the mornings.) so many stations base their sales on a certain demo….women 25-54, for example. or teens….or men 25-54, etc. The breakdowns are what its all about. 12+ numbers are not necessarily indicative of a stations performance….much as the ratings themselves are to be taken with a grain…or two…of salt.

Deago=Diablo? Because if you can’t remember his name, then I guess the impact can’t be that big…

How DID the rock stations compare in the male demo? And you can’t stick a fork in a station because of ONE bad book.

Rock radio should be anchored by the morning show and lousy promotions that sound fun. The X has been stail since Bill and Doug left. Though I hated them most of Boise listened. J105 is just that. It’s never changed or reinvented it’s self. The Eagle has Bob and Tom who make fun of “Boise” on the air. Stick a spork in the rock morning shows and start over!!!

Stick a spork in the rock morning shows gt? Seriously?
Bob & Tom ONLY managed to land #2, and that was persons 12+. And amongst dudes 18-49, seriously, you want to stick a spork in the number one morning show?
For J-105, we tied for fourth in “stations that guys like to listen to” category.
Both rock stations in well in the demos we were going for. But hey, stick a fork in us. We can’t get those teenagers to listen to us!
BTW “gt”, you can elevate yourself about chicken-s**t level if you bothered to use your real name!

J105 has freshened itself quite a bit with a fresh approach to mornings with Pete and Joe. They ‘re fun, and involved in the community. How much community involvement can Bob and Tom offer? By the way, gt, “stale” is the correct spelling, not stail. If you’re gonna be critical, at least spell the insult correctly!
