Editor’s note: A profane comment slipped through for a while here – which I’m removing… that’s what all the chatter below is about

Hey Ben… There is an old saying you should take to heart…. “It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt” Your use of the F word seems to nullify your intelligence regarding your comments. I am beating Don to the punch here. I am sure he will agree.

Regarding Channel 2, yes its a low ball, low budget station. It always has been. I can remember watching it back in the late 60’s..plywood news desk set and all…at least the lead female anchor is very cute-beats the bald headed fart they had back then.

So what is your point. This is not New York City…Does anyone here, get the feeling there is a Pace Picanti sauce cowboy TV ad in the works on this one?

I hope that the Boise market never degenerates into the quality of news coverage that we tend to see in the big city markets… we can not afford multi-million dollar turbine helicopters to do break into the regular local programming to show live police chases down the freeway…thank God.

I for one would rather see coverage of city hall meetings, proposed tax hikes, the local farmers and ranchers who are losing their way of lives to outsiders from other big cities building condos on rangelands, lost dogs, the local camel who is does free shows for church nativity scenes (the really boring stuff) and you know all the backwaters, hoakie stuff that relates to my life here in the deep dark woods where we have to pipe sunlight into…etc, than what prevails as news on the Atlantic coast. This is a trainng ground for most and a reason to get away from the mindless big city rush for other broadcasters.

If you dont like what we have to offer, let me offer this advice. Get a job at KBCI Channel 2 or any of the other small market stations of its type. Learn to operate inside the budgetary constaints of this size of a market and then perhaps you will have a little more patience dealing with their newscasts. Until such time as you have a positive plan to improve their newscasts then, as Jack Nicholson says in his court room speach,
from the movie A Few Good Men, Just Say Thank You and Walk On By….

Oh, and the F-word uses a ‘g” on the end if you want to impress us with YOUR use of proper grammer, spelling and use of the English language.

How exactly does your opinion of their website relate to the GSM position at Impact Radio? Maybe I missed it since I’m not from NYC.

Look, many of you know that my real name is “Ben” and my last name begins with “R.” But I sure as hell did not make that post. Just wanted to clarify that I am an IDAHO native, so don’t try and pin that prior post on me!

Editor’s note: I can verify elchupacabras didn’t leave the comment

haha… I know El Chupa and he’d NEVER use the “f” word. At least not without conjugating it properly. Ya know I’m kidding you Ben.

I just hope the programing will be as good as when Dave Tester was running the stations. One thing I liked about Dave Tester is he wasn’t afread to try new things in this market where others have thought about it but were just to afrade to try it out. For example Tom The Leykis show and Don and Mike. I know they have been tried on KFXD. But they didn’t last long. I wonder if anyone else thought about carying them but didn’t because fear that they wouldn’t work in the Boise market. Dave Tester was not afraid to think out of the box.

Wow… This went off the deep end rather quickly…

I for one am glad to see this station moving in a positive direction after how much it has truly lost its grip on reality. Being a Stark station makes you a local station; Jimmy Bob at South Middle School can buy a $50 FM transmitter off of eBay and play streaming audio over it all day long. It’s not rocket science.

Let’s bring back a “Locally Owned” cluster back to being Locally Focussed.
