Clear Channel deal on verge of collapse

Hey Peak and GAP folks — still got Clear Channel stock? The Wall Street Journal reports the deal to take the company private is about to collapse. This, of course has no effect on the Idaho markets since those deals to sell were separate — but it looks like the $19 billion deal with Providence Equity Partners will collapse under its own weight. Now both CC’s radio and outdoor divisions are starting to plunge - and the stock price is starting to tank on reports the deal will fall apart.

Boise was the largest market Clear Channel sold — and it looks like folks here in Idaho got off the Titanic just in time…

Did it just become a French company being “Clear Chanel” (sic) or did you miss an “n?”

I hope the May family burns. The twisted, underhanded crap-bag they left us holding underminded the whole “we’re just one big happy family” BS they sold us for years.

    …not that I’m bitter though…

It wasn’t just Cochran or the Mays. Local Mgrs especially those from TF pulled alot of people into the “one big family” schpeel while pocketing perks won and deserved by employees and then knifing them in the back. I can think of two in particular that should have gone down with the ship…new custom houses and all. Kharma has it’s own rewards though…eventually.
