Statesman: Paul J. to stay

The Idaho Daily Statesman reported today that Paul J. Schenider will stay with KBOI’s “First Morning News” — but will get a little more time to rest each day. He’ll now start at 6am.

And there’s this odd note:

He said he anticipates participating in pre- and post-game coverage of Boise State.

I am so glad to hear that. Paul J is an Idaho broadcasting institution and I have a lot of respect for him. God bless.

It’s not too odd of a note that he is looking forward to doing pre- and post-game coverage.

KBOI will still do what defines them, Bronco football coverage.

KBOI still has to broadcast on gamedays, and why not continue what they do best? They won’t get the ingame ad revenue, but pre- and post-game revenue with Paul J anchoring, or co-hosting the coverage will demand a pretty penny too, and will net more listeners than any pre-game Peak can put together, for the first two years anyway.

KTVB already has a partnership with Peak. So, what will be interesting is what KBOI will tell listeners after kickoff.

I am sure Citadel has put plenty of calls into Chili’s, Baja Fresh and other nearby locations to broadcast from during games, just like Peak did in the 2007 season.
