Well from the looks of it, it would seem that CALIFORNIANS know more about what we locals want than us locals…. But I guess that’s what you get when you hire “experts” to do your consulting…way to go.

Boise State has done well with outsourcing/consulting in the past. There was a big uproar when BSU contracted with an eastern company for the new logo design, instead of keeping it in-state at a lower cost. As a result, Boise State apparel became a hot seller, and that was even before the Fiesta Bowl win.
If there is local talent with the right stuff, I’m sure they’ll be given consideration…but as far as I know, there is not a local heir-apparent to Paul J Schneider. Bringing in the right voice/personality will be key. With the benefits of living in a great area while working with a nationally-recognized program, I’m sure we can land a very talented sportscaster who would be happy to spend 35 years here, like Paul J did. That long in Idaho, they become “Idahoan.” I, for one, am glad this is a nationwide search.

I hardly think the boo-koo money that bsu wasted on their new logo had anything to do with their success in selling t-shirts etc…If anything it was because bsu gained the national spotlight with their big win and the way it was done… It was a waste of money plain and simple and heads should have rolled over that misuse of public funds. LOCAL talent could and should have been utilized in that case as well… Could it be that the money masters at bsu are losing touch with the LOCAL folks who live and work here as they aspire to build their empire? I hope you enjoy your new and improved increased ticket prices… that you are now paying in the coming season…

There is local talent right here. His name is Paul J Schneider.
This talent search may turn up “A Voice”, but it will never be “THE VOICE”
This is another wasteful move by BSU

How about Howard Cosell. I hear he hasn’t been working much lately.

For the record, I know Howard is dead, which doesn’t help in making career choices, but for the right price, I’m sure would reincarnate.

I want to throw my name in the hopper!
A degree from Boise State University in Communication. I want to be the next Scott Mitchell/Aaron Rogers/Brian Griese.

Ya, a local company could have created the BSU logo that they paid nearly 100K for, just do as they did, copy the Western Michigan logo. scheesh.

If you think small time….you get small time!

If Harry Calas isn’t busy in Philly, maybe we could get him. You all remember Harry - the voice of NFL Films and the Chunky Soup commercials.
Harry’s color analyst should be Barry Farber.
Now that would be as smooth as Tennessee whiskey.

Ditto Ideehoe! Right on the money! I don’t know why so many in this forum want to trash the man.

Double Ditto Ideehoe!!!!
Speaking of dittos, since Rush Limbaugh didn’t get a chance to do the Monday night gig, how about Rush as the new radio voice.
Elchupacabras, I think so many people want to trash Paul J. because it is easier to shoot arrows at the person on top of the mountain instead of building a new mountain.

I gee hope they can teach the guy how to pronounce “Boise”!!!!!
I don’t plan on listening to the radio broadcasts anymore anyway….

I for one will miss listening to KIDO at nights for all the talk programming. Oh, well, there are tons of other alternative programming on the web as well as on other more powerful distant stations that carry 580’s programming. I agree with Ray that KIDO did have better streamers on my PC.
