JBG’s been thinning its ranks
Don Day | April 23, 2008Company-wide, the Journal Broadcast Group has been trimming staff in the radio and TV division by about 5%. The cuts began last fall, according to Inside Radio – citing CEO Doug Kiel. The cuts will save $3 million per year – and also include a hiring slowdown.

You know what would be cool? What if the employees of Journal got together and bought the company, making it private, not public? Then they wouldn’t have to worry so much about the stock’s price in an uncertain market.
Nah, what am I saying? That’s crazy talk. “Private corportations?” What kind of Commie nonsense is that??
A “shout out” to Karl. I consider you one of my “radio friends.” It’s good to hear a friendly voice when I call in. It’s sometimes challenging to keep track of the radio personalities when they move around, but it’s good to know I can still hear Tracy, Margo, KJ, and Larry on KHITS.
I have to admit it’s not always easy listening to KHITS at work as I have to hold one hand on the radio antenna to bring in the signal. (Boomer is the only station I can get without “hands on”.)
Keep up the good work Karl. Hope I spelled your name right! Barb
No Barb…it’s with a “C”. It was nice chatting with you the other morning!! You know that I’m that “CB” guy on J105 as well don’t you??
CB!!! Whats up my friend?
