Paul J. should have been allowed to broadcast games as long as he was mentally and physically able to do so and wanted to do so. He has paid his dues in this market and earned that right.

I will miss Paul J so much. Won’t be the same without him. I never went to a game even though I work at Boise State. Could never afford the tickets as a single parent with kids. But I always turned on my radio and listened to the play by play. I never felt resentment for not having the funds to buy tickets for a game because Paul always made me feel like I was right there with everyone in the stadium.

It is a rare announcer who can generate the kinds of loyal listeners that he has had for so many years. Would be cool if they made some Paul J towels for everyone to wave… in case he reads this … thanks Paul for many years of making me think I was cheering next to you in the booth!

Kudo’s to Paul J. I have to hand it to him for keeping his head up high and accepting the honor that has been bestowed upon him. It would be easy for a lessor man to tell them to shove it given the “it’s just business…” mentality the college has shown.

Like so many things in life, time will take its course and Paul J. will be remembered for all the outstandingly postive contributions he made to the college, its staff and students and its place in the greater community.

And the best part is, is that Paul J. can now turn his energies to new projects that will benefit from his many years in the public spotlight….

I am glad to hear this news. A scholarship to a deserving student athlete, lifetime seating, the Paul J. Schneider Press Area, and the Distinguished Service Award coupled with nomination of membership to the Hall of Fame (it should be automatic membership) is very appropriate and well deserved.
However, renaming the Communication Building the Paul J. Schneider Communication Building would also be appropriate.
