KQXR CUTS IAN - ADDS VOICETRACKER

KQXR/100.3 The X cut afternoon host and former morning host Ian this week. Night guy Josh will move up and work 3pm-8pm - while “Britt” will fill the void from 8-11. Parts of the shifts will now be voicetracked. I’m told Ian wasn’t fired — could this be part of the Journal-wide belt-tightening we talked about earlier?

The memo said that JBG bosses would “miss” him and “wished him well.”

Ian’s a great guy - little angry but it only adds to his charm.

Wonder if he might be heading to San Diego?

    Good luck man!

So… voicetrack. That means Journal will be unattended at some hours… unless they’re finding a board op that will work for $5.85 from 8 pm to 5 am or so.

Regardless, good luck to Ian in whatever he may do. :-)

They “cut him” but he “wasn’t fired?” How can they miss him if he isn’t leaving? Color me confused.

I thought Ian’s personality/anger was great on the X. Just once I’d like to hear a story, or comment on how Journal isn’t being cheap… Just once. Best of luck to Ian.
