I donated my hair through “Locks of Love” last year, and the good folks at Fantastic Sam’s were willing to do the honors free of charge. There is a form that you fill out and they send along with the hair – you can go to their website, which if I remember correctly is http://www.locksoflove.org, or they had one at the salon as well.

Now, having said this (and as I’m about ready to donate again), I’ve since heard that Locks of Love charges for the wigs they produce. I haven’t had the opportunity to verify if that’s true, and certainly if it is, I would not endorse them. But, I know there are other organizations that do similar good deeds.

I have a 12 year old son that decided to grow his hair out after he started to understand that I grow mine out for donation. He has 11 or 12 inches and I have at least 12 that we can donate. Do you know what places do the locks for love or some kind of donations? My husband told me about your cancer and I pray for you and hope everything works out ok for you and your family. If you have any info that could help me please let me know, I’m new to the area
