Bob is a great friend and working next to The Man for 20 years I learned so much about preparation, never losing concentration, and being a part of "the team." He is very much deserving of this great honor!

Editor's note: Despite this user's name... it doesn't appear they are actually Bob Curtis

Hell, I was the one IN THE BOOTH with him for those 14 hour long post games! ha ha ha.

Nothing better than after a miserable game and a long post game show to see the telephone couplers "disconnect" one after another (after 3 plus hours)when the thing went on and on and on.

Heck...there were at least two times I remember that the post game went on so long after a mens BB game that the crew actually pulled the power to the press row down on the court. Made me want to pull my hair out as we lot the feed to all the affiliates...Nice...real nice...

Bob is "old fashioned" and not real "pc" but that is Bob...that is the way "you were" back in the day.

I learned a ton from him...and he knew a heck of a lot of folks.

I learned that a "cripple" was a "very easy shot, typically a lay-up with no defenders nearby...and the floor is always "maple court".

ha ha ha.

guys like Curtis and PJ who love the game and can tell the story like they do do not come around very often...

Congrats BOB!

Bob Curtis was awesome! I board-op'd a zillion of those games back in the day. I just wished the Post-game show would have been about 14 hours shorter. They lost, lets move on. He had to talk to everyone, their cat and janitor about each tiny detail of the game. The guy was very thorough, and I was a very impatient teenage board-op.

Bob's voice and style brings back some great memories. The man was well-known in sports broadcasting. I was surprised when about 13 years ago I met the play-by-play announcer for the Phoenix Suns, Al McCoy. When Al learned I was from Idaho and was going to school at U of I he asked me if I knew Bob and want to know how he was doing.

Nice to see Bob honored. However, I always wondered about those football games I board-op'd in Moscow when the Vandals were getting it handed to them by the other team. Seems by the end of the 3rd and into the 4th Bob would slow down and Tom Morris would take over. ...I don't know... just sayin'...

It's seared into my brain - "Hey Taawwmmm..." "Taawwmmm, what do you think about..." "Taaawwmmm..."
