Kiss picks up Seacrest

KSAS/103.3 Kiss FM is picking up Premiere Radio Networks’ “On Air with Ryan Seacrest.” A three-hour version of the program went national this spring - and the Peak folks decided that a taped syndicated show was better than a voicetracked shift. On Air goes on-air Monday.

Seacrest out.

That is not the only station. Check out KTPZ 94.3 on Monday from noon to 3!!! That station has got it going on in Twin Falls…

I can understand why Peak is doing it and my criticism is not directed towards them. But Seacrest? He’s ubiquitous, but plain vanilla. I can’t understand why KIIS would kick out Rick Dees, a real talent, and put in somebody so blah, blah, blah. He does have name recognition, but talent? Stick in somebody like Jim Smith and you’ll be laughing your ass off all the way home. Wrong demo, but you get the picture. I remember listening to Jim in Idaho Falls years ago, and he is a trillion percent better than Seacrest ever thought of being.

    “Seacrest out.”

    Not of the closet.

Who in show business does this guy have photos of having sex with a donkey? I can’t figure out any other reason why he gets so much work.

I mean, they were actually talking about him taking over for Larry King upon his retirement. Uh, ex-cuse me?

It is hard to believe that even Larry King thought that Seacrest should eventually occupy his chair. I have a hard time understanding that one.

Don’t get me wrong. I like Peak Broadcasting a lot. However, I am disappointed with this move. I expect better from them. The program Director was determined to have the station as local sounding as possible. So much for that. BTW, what ever happened to that possession they were trying to fill a few month ago? Do you remember that posting on All Access.com? So much for sounding local, and perhaps so much for that possession you were trying to fill. I wish wee could go back to the days of Casey Kasem, and Shadow Stevens. I loved it when Magic 93.1 carried Shadow Stevens. I will talk to you later.
