I’m not sure how much the general public cares about ownership limits but yes, some of the other Boise media should be covering this story.

Thanks to Bill Clinton’s support of “consolidation” in media, we’ve seen what allowing a handful of companies to own all the influential media in America has lead to. Hint: nothing good.

Don- Thanks for covering this story … I doubt if the “local” paper or any other media will cover it… and these are very important issues that the general public should be made aware of…..
Maybe BOISE WEEKLY or the Idaho Business Review might put some resources into it…HINT, HINT…..

You’re right, of course, to have no faith in the FCC, Jac. It’s a joke.

I don’t often side with Libertarians, but I think I’m on their side on this one. If KNIN is failing, then let it fail. The audience isn’t supporting it, so buh-bye.

Gee, I can remember when Journal local management actually decried the tactics of companies like Clear Channel. They thought of themselves as the “white hats” to C.C.’s “black hats.” I guess that was back when Journal wasn’t in a position to scoop up whatever IT wanted.

I know I’ve mentioned this before…

But a town I used to work in (State College, PA) has 14 radio stations and 12 are now owned by the same company. I lost faith in the fcc and their ownership rules long ago…
