"But who is KBOI going to let go to pay the $100,000 + a year broadcast fee to air Rush. Nothing comes for free. Nate, PJ, watch your back!"

Ray M: See the thread called "More on the Citadel job cuts".

Here's the ugly side of being a publically held company. When you swallow the price tag attached to a whale the size of El Rushbo you need to make financial room for it.

We IRN dwellers tend to focus on Boise as the center of the universe, but we need to see the whole forest and not the trees. That show is costing them a bundle. In the short term they have no hope of recovering that cost. Realistically it will take them at least 6 months, probably closer to a year to see ant quantifiable, meaningful returns. Citadel stock is in the tank so budgets have been slashed nation wide and managers have no choice but to adhere to them strictly to appease the stockholders and bean-counters. So the listeners come in a distant third place. Are a half dozen local folks in Boise worth one Limbaugh? Can Limbaugh recoup all of the missing BSU income AND support the sizeable sports-staff-without-a-gig? The Citadel guys think so. Lets all just hide and watch and see what happens shall we?

I wonder what financial return KBOI gets for the $100,000 investment and what return KIDO gets for their investment in local radio.
How much money did KBOI invest in Bronco sports to allow them to get Rush? If they are simply turning their money over, this could be a good financial move.

Laura Ingraham is currently on KIOV. I'd like to see KBOI pick her up in the Savage time slot. I'd support that move.

It'll be nice to have such a great line-up combined with 50,000 watts of juice. Now Rush won't cut out on me when I'm driving north. KBOI even comes in clearly (at night) about an hour north of Lewiston.

I could do without Coast to Coast and all the weird ideas. What would they fill with from 9 pm to 4 am? Maybe Dr. Ruth from 9 pm to midninght followed by either Savage or Coast to Coast. Who knows?
KBOI's Midnight Trucker show isn't bad. They have too many commercials, but the content isn't bad.
Maybe I'll start a radio show. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

I was kinda hoping that KBOI would also pick up Coast to Coast so that KIDO would stop interrupting it with Bronco sports programming...especially come basketball season!

WOW!!!! Paul J. & Chris in the mornings followed by Rush, Sean, and Nate!!! That's 14 hours of good, quality programming.
I would like to see Savage replaced by either O'Reilly, Dennis Miller, or Jerry Doyle. O"Reilly could be moved up and replaced by Miller, Doyle, or Laura Ingraham.
What is KIDO going to replace Rush with? Maybe they will shift the remaining programming upward. Surely they won't broadcast seven hours of Coast to Coast AM.
Oh well, at least I won't have to change stations twice a day now.
Now to get the Broncos back where they belong.
