Schnitt is new, only been in syndication for a few months. Been in the Tampa area for many years, and does well. Give that show a chance, I think you will like it!

I would tend to agree. Ed Schultz has a fantastic show and I often listened to it online.

The idea of promoting a single station probably stems from the confusion of call sign/frequency changes and having Jon and Chris move to the 630 frequency. So instead of trying to promote a decent line-up, they are shuffling the cards once again, giving it all the KIDO moniker.

Frankly, the new schedule will probably bring even less “real listeners” (not just diaries with KIDO on them) than what they had. Putting Dan Patrick on then jumping to a local show is non-sequitr. Sports fans and news/talk fans aren’t always one in the same.

It is hard to believe Big Eddie couldn’t be a player. He’s astute and offers a perspective little heard in Idaho. There have to be more Democrats out there, especially in light of what Barack Obama did in the state.

I am seriously disappointed that 630 dropped Ed Schultz. His is the biggest progressive talk show in the nation, and now we have NOTHING but reactionary Republican talk radio in Democratic-leaning Boise. What gives?

I called the station and was told the Schultz show simply didn’t generate revenue. I wonder if it was due to a lack of promotion on KFXD/KIDO’s part? When I mentioned the show to most folks, they didn’t even know it was on the air locally. If 630 would have promoted Big Eddie, I am sure he’d have found an audience (and advertisers) in the Treasure Valley.

I tuned in yesterday, then just turned the radio off. Live? I don’t care if it’s live if it’s not good.

And KFXD didn’t have any ratings because “someone” either didn’t send in that little arbitron card, or it “somehow” got lost…

I like the idea of a live show midday. Live and local is what radio is all about. Yes, national syndication brings some perspective to Boise, but, with so many hosts sounding the same, there isn’t all that much variety.

In fact I think KBOI and KIDO/KFXD should go head-to-head live and local from 6 in the morning to 10 at night. Hang the expense. Talk to ME about what matters HERE! I can learn about the bland world of politics in the 15 online papers I read everyday.

What exactly don’t you like? The fact that a majority of the programming is now LIVE? The fact that Am 63 KIDO has the only LIVE and LOCAL talk show on in the middays? Currently, only 4 1/2 hours of the weekday broadcast schedule is recorded/delayed. That leaves 19.5 hours of LIVE programming.

You had a decent schedule on KFXD…now you’re tinkering again. Peak…………….we hardly knew ye.
