Call it Hurban or whatever. And I can tell you, in the 5 hours I heard Latino Vibe, there is no way in hell it was Spanish Contemporary. It was Latin Urban with a mix of Anglo rhythmic and tons of reggaeton. I'll give you a pass on KWYD, because I have heard little of it, but the Pope is Mormon if your contention that Latino Vibe in Phoenix has gone 100 percent Spanish Contempo is true.

Elchupacabras should get his facts straight. How can it sound like Latino Vibe. Mikey hasn't been there for 2 years and it changed formats from Latin Urban to Spanish Contemporary late last year. The two formats couldn't be different - so I can't speak for how it sounds. KVIB has since been sold to Liberman. KWYD is a Rhythmic Top 40 station - so I don't know what you're listening to. Churban is a 1990's term.

Mancheese is right. From what few audio clips I have heard, it sounds very Churban, and an awful lot like Latino Vibe 95.7 (a lite version, except Wild is in English) out of Phoenix. Didn't Mikey Fuentes work down there? On my way down to Mexico a couple weeks ago, I heard it from Flagstaff on and frankly was not impressed. The voiceover guy sends strikingly similar. Let's see, what will come up next on the format wheel of fortune?

Macncheese,

Bet that stands for disaster! Huh huh. That was REALLY funny. C'mon...

I have to say, I really thought people grew up after high school, but then I read a few posts and I'm sad to say, I guess they really don't.

Impact has a long way to go to get into the big boy pen, there's no doubt about that. If I was kiss I'd watch my back, a similar situation happened in Reno and the top 40 CHR plumbited in the ratings as the RYTHMIC CHR soared to top of the cumes in the market. It'll be interesting to see what happens between these two stations.

Impact took the same road when opening their spanish station Poderosa. Granted there are billboards and spanish tv commercials (so maybe a bigger opening then 101) but they did the same thing with bashing other stations which only gave those stations more publicity. You have to give it to Impact they are not just opening against the little stations they are going up against the big boys. The problem is they open (their spanish station) with their competitions dj and seller and then bash their old employer. Do they not think that makes them look foolish!

Hey Don....how about actually posting my comment? That would be nice. Thank you....the one I posted a few days ago....not this one. Thank you.

Editor's note: The comment went to spam for some reason. It appears now.

The MySpace page is: www.myspace.com/wild1011

On the air, the station is known as "Wild 101" without the point one at the end. Online, it's "Wild 101.1"...which tells people exactly where to tune. Shouldn't the on-air imaging match what's online?

Big D,

I guess that stands for Disaster! Wild is nothing more than a mediocre "Churban" station with a little pop and not talent! If you truly believe that 15,000 songs in a row with a weak signal and bashing the competition by name is the way to win, you are seriously diluted! Talk about not getting it. I'm sure The Kiss boys are hoping you continue to bash/promote their station on your airwaves. First rule, you've gotta make your bones before you can bash someone that is successful. (Even then, it's not a good idea)Merely recognizing another station screams "Hey we aren't the only choice", naming them, is just plain dumb. Besides, Kiss is well liked, and if all you can offer their listeners is a short lived "15,000" songs and then not deliver with compelling talent and focused marketing plan, you'll be nothing more than a blip on the Boise Radio Radar. Your launch has a serious flaw in it's sequence my friend. I haven't seen anything, anywhere about this station except on this site, and the only buzz must be coming from your building where I'm sure you're all patting each other on the back for how clever you think those liners are, when in reality the answer to "Whose House" is Kiss FM. You want to be the man, you've got to beat the man. The man is Kiss FM. You can't build a house without a foundation, and it's obvious Wild doesn't even know the recipe for concrete. Good luck, you'll need it.
