Dan McC is and has always been one of the good guys in Boise media. Having never met Mr. Sparks, I can't comment on the 2nd graph but wish him all the best in securing new employment. There was a time when I could not have imagined myself saying (or even thinking)this, but it's a good time to be out of radio. Unfortunately, the economic realities of the rest of the world make all employment less secure these days. MR I want to echo the first paragraph of Afterthought’s post. I have no doubts that Sparks will land on his feet, the problem for Sparks and everybody else who is getting laid off in medialand right now is WHEN will a person land on their feet again. TV and radio are in worse shape now than it was after 9/11, and there's no light at the end of the tunnel. I hope, as an industry, we are simply able to survive this one. As afterthought previously stated, Sparks was a huge asset to J105 and JBG. He is one of the best PD's I have ever met and had the pleasure to work with. Best of luck, Sparks.
