KDJQ’s for sale… again

Don Day | December 10, 2008

It’s been listed on Craigslist.

It’s been sold to a Catholic radio group.

It’s been sold to Churchill Media.

All those efforts failed or fell through – and now KDJQ is in the hands of a reciever and is out of former owner Rob Coombs’ hands by court order.  That reciver is working to sell the station:

    What a deal!

Who else has noticed that a 230 kV power line Idaho Power’s rebuilding seems to run right through where the DAY tower is located (Kuna-Mora & Pleasant Valley Rds) ? I.P. even has the poles all stacked up between the guy anchors.
Bet that tower goes away too just like the night site lease with KTIK did.

Looks like you get a license and some pieces-parts but no transmitter sites.

Let’s see. I would guess about a million or so to pay off the debt, plus at least another million to find a tower site, upgrade the transmitter, build a new studio, set up for a possible satellite feed and in an economy that is not supporting the radio stations that are currently in the market. This will be very interesting to watch.

I wonder what kind of format might work. Infomercials 24 hours a day, perhaps? “For only $19.95 you get this great pen, and if you are the first 100 people to call in the next ten minutes, we’ll send you this protective cap for free!” We could bring back the Popiel (sp) Pocket Fisherman. Talk about nostalgia

Speaking of transmission lines….Could someone tell me why the local media is not covering the outrage that is going on regarding that new high power transmission line especially near the Malheur County Oregon area…seems like its been selective reporting so far…..

Yes, a power line of some size would do well to de-tune a stick really nicely… yet another obsticle for this poor little station that has become like a unwanted dog that has been kicked far too much.

Transmission lines? There’s multiple ones in the planning stage. Why is it an “outrage” and where WOULD you put them? Answer: “NIBY”. “But I still want my lights to come on when I throw the switch.” Have you/are you going to any of the public meetings & hearings?

This is getting away from RADIO and should be on another blog.

Editors note: it’s on topic enough for me.

So, is it a good thing or a bad thing that I gave up ownership of KDJQ.com?

you are just a jerk. a small minded one at that. imagine a person so small hoping someone else goes down so they can feel good about themselves. what a poor example of life you are.

So change the name to “Idaho Radio News & Power Lines”

    Editor’s note: OK.
