    Hello Don,

Bill Lee here, formerly of Lite FM and back in town doing voice-overs full-time. Seeing the Fall 09′ numbers reminds me of how much fluctuation occurs between the books. Would you chalk that up to diary placement? In markets like Dallas, you see less of that and more consistency between books. Would Boise benefit from four books instead of two? In case of a slide, it’s a pretty long wait to redeem yourself and ofcourse, in case of a nice gain, you get to live with it for a bit. Points to ponder as I get set to cut the next spot that has seven seconds too much copy, but ofcourse, they want it to be a thirty and for me to sound comfortable!

Sling-shot analysis… The Broncos bring numbers but the catch is: you can’t just do a pregame show… it’s the whole package, game and all.

It is very clear that the braodcast groups that recognize the value of their “human capital” aka / talent, plus live presentation and localism are holding strong, for the most part … those that made cuts in those areas are not. Kudos to Crystal for singelhandedly keeping Lite afloat. Imagine how well they would have done had they “invested” in the other dayparts with local & live talent …

I really thought WOW Country had become a player after the last book…..maybe it’s just a fluke, maybe not. Surprised to see BOB-FM slip as well as J105. I guess there’s only so much Bon Jovi and Def Leppard one can take.

That is KIZN’s lowest 12+ ratings in a while…BUT there are bright spots they were No. 1 Adults 25-54, Women 25-54 and Adults 18-49.

Why listen to J when I can hear the butt rock and the new stuff on X?

Did WOW have a big billboard campaign the previous book?

You are right…Colorado springs…only a slightly larger market has 4 books. Boise needs the same. Plus the results come so late…you have to make marketing plans with out knowing how u did last time around…

And what happened to the Eagles #’s? They must have lost those men to the talkers huh? Diary placement is the key…would love to really look at the #’s in maximiser.

Wait until you guys see the in-tab sample. This is the worst hatchet-job of a book I’ve seen Arb pass off in 25 years in this market.

    Heeeeere’s your sign!

Now pay me to mess up your life for 6 months.

Just one more market move and we get 4 books, is that correct?

If someone has Maximizer, I’d be interested in how the market’s non-coms’ did. KTSY, Air1, KBSU, etc…

Dave, the data is released (at least 12+) at RRConline dot org. You have to do a little song and dance to load the data, but it’s not too hard.

I guess it’s “hot water” if you publish actual numbers, but I’ll just say KTSY was tied between KCIX and KQXR.

    KBSX was slightly higher.

    KBSU around KRVB’s stat.

I’d say it’s time to put Mitch Pruitte and stone country back on KFXD-AM. He always did a WHOLE lot better than 0.6!

Do you have any morning-only numbers?

Editor’s note: Yes… I’ll put some stuff together this week.

Did KIDO numbers and KFXD numbers have anything to do with both stations calling themselves KIDO?

    SELR—

If memory serves me right…The rules are something like this…If two radio station share the same or similar logo, calls, etc….then the ratings company will split the two stations ratings down the middle….Does memory serve me right….or can someone out there…give clarification to this?

Just my opinion, but to comment on “selr” — I think that is the ONLY way they got the numbers. They could not overcome the market confusion between KFXD and KIDO ever since the infamous and (in my opinion) stupid flipping of channels a few years back, so they did the only thing they could do — morph them together so it didn’t matter who you listened to, KIDO got the credit.

It doesn’t look like it had an impact. KFXD did show some small numbers (.06) compared to a no show in the last book,
