Margo Vaughn: No signs of cancer

Don Day | February 28, 2009

The Idaho Press-Tribune has a great backstage look at Margo Vaughn’s battle with cancer.  The best news? She tells the paper that there are no signs of cancer right now — though she stops short of declaring her cancer in remission.

Despite that on-the-air cheeriness, Vaughn and her co-workers say it was a tough road:

“When the mic was off she would be sprawled out on the floor,” station program director KJ Mac said.

Thanks for the BEST news I think I’ve heard all week. Forget that…the best news in at least a month or two! This is the proof that good people and good karma can accomplish great things. Margo, all the best to you…continued health and wellness!

I have the most admiration for Margo. Not only for enduring her treatment AND working the grueling morning show, but sharing her experience via radio, television and print with the people! I think it’s that strength to take this head on and that is what got her through this and healthy.

I knew you would do it! Anyone who has to put up with Tracy 5 days a week can certainly beat just about anything! :)
    Prayers asked, blessings given.

Hi, Margo! This is especially good news to a fellow breast cancer survivor! I was diagnosed and treated in 1997, so am a 12 year survivor. Other survivors, including myself, are affiliated with “Angel Care Network” (established in Seattle, WA) and are trained survivors offering free emotional support to help enhance recovery during and after treatment. We will see you at the “Race for the cure” Gail Peterson
