J-105 shuffles, adds morning syndication

Don @ IdahoRadioNews | March 17, 2009

KJOT/J-105 is revamping its schedule, and in the process will become the latest station with a syndicated morning show.

The Pete and Joe Show will air in the morning drive for the final time this Friday. Starting Monday, the Syndicated Todd ‘n’ Tyler show will take their place.

Pete and Joe will remain with the station and move to PM drive.

How that affects current afternoon host CB is unknown – but he voicetracks the shift and acts as producer for Tracy and Margo on KTHI/107.1 K-Hits.

Boooo… I checked out some clips from the Todd n Tyler show this morning and found it to be a terrible cacophony of endless laughing, just like KKGL’s current morning show. Terrible. It’s a sad day when we lose a local show to a couple of wanna-be shock jocks and their posse. Changes were imminent after the last book, but didn’t Journal learn anything about syndicated mornings after the Mancow escapade on KQXR?

Change is hard to take for everyone. Give these guys a chance. No matter how much you want to hate them now, they will grow on you. I really think you’ll find their show something you’ll want and need every morning. I do agree Tyler talks and laughs too much. I always assumed it was too much coffee.

A non-local morning show on J-105. And another little piece of my history bites the dust.

I’m going to miss Pete & Joe during the AM commute! Fortunately my radio at work is tuned to J105 during the time they’re on the air for PM shift so I’ll actually probably hear more of Pete & Joe in the afternoon than in the morning. Pete & Joe are my favorite radio personalities in the whole valley!

Yeah, it’s hard to see the once dominate ROCK station in Idaho’s history a shell of it’s former-self.

    Kinda sad.

Did anybody check out Todd & Tyler this morning? I thought the audio feed was of poor sound quality. I’ll give them a chance because I like J105, but the minute they start blabbing about American Idol, I’ll hit the CD button.

I think it sucked. I used to listen to Pete And Joe and Nic And Big J evenly, but now I’ll start listening to Nic and Big J full time. Hopefully, they don’t shut them own too.

Wow, Todd and Tyler are a watered down version of Bob and Tom. First Journal puts Hendrix, AC/DC, Van Halen, etc.. on the X to nearly create two J105’s. Then they dump a different, but smart and REAL morning show on J105. Now the have one J105 (on the X) going up against KKGL 1 and KKGL 2. Best of luck to Pete and Joe. Seems like they got sucker punched.

I’ve given Todd and Tyler three days. Trashy subject mix. Not impressed. Too much talk and too little songs mixed in. They seem to enjoy talking about blow up dolls, sheep, and today floaters and crappers. Not impressed. They are really putting
    J-105 in the toilet.

Not impressed is an understatement. I have changed stations and hope others will find something they enjoy listening to also.
