Another cutback at Peak: Rick Stewart

Don @ IdahoRadioNews | March 22, 2009

Peak Broadcasting

Peak Broadcasting

The primary man behind KAWO/Wow Country 104.3 Rick Stewart is no longer with Peak Broadcasting. Stewart helped revamp the (kinda lame) My Country 104.3 into a more competitive country station that saw some Arbitron growth. “I just fell victim of the all mighty budget cuts,” Stewart told Idaho Radio News. “I am now looking for my next venture.”

Rick says he’s thankful to Peak managers for the chance to work at Wow – and names Todd Lawley, Kevin Godwin and Bill Figenshu. You can reach Rick at rick@therickstewart.com, and read his full message after the jump.

Since the first of November, Peak has cut at least seven full-time programming-side staff positions by my unofficial count.

Peak is a great company with a ton of great ideas. I am sad to leave such a great company. Kevin Godwin is a great GM and a great leader. Todd Lawley is one of the most honest CEO’s and a great manager. He is the KING of making sure the right people are hired to do the right job. The WOW sales staff is the best in the market. Bill Figenshu is the best at putting together stations that win. God bless Bill Figenshu. WOW Could not have the branding success it had without Dave Michaels and www.stationality.com I just fell victim of the all mighty budget cuts. I am now looking for my next venture. I can be contacted at rick@therickstewart.com. Look for a new web site to be launched this week: www.therickstewart.com, you can also tweet me @ www.twitter.com/iamfmdj, www.myspace.com/therickstewart or facebook @ http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/profile.php?id=541935476&ref=profile, just look for Rick Stewart.

Now, read this and tell me what size truck you would need to haul this load of “Crap” to the dump…

Ratings are up…but it’s time for a cut back…so let’s get rid of the people that got us here!!! That makes a whole lot of sence…

When the ratings drop…they will find a ways to blame the staffers they fired…”Good thing we got rid of those loosers, otherwise we would have taken a bigger hit”…

Idiots running radio…that’s what the business is today…Get the idiots out of radio, and let’s make some money…
