I seem to be behind the times, but this sucks. I tuned into the station earlier today and when I heard Thriller I knew something was up. It was nice to have a true oldies channel, K-HITS is great but there are some things it doesn't quite cover.

I was really sad when this happened... driving to BSU and hearing Thriller 3 times in a row really confused me, same story on the way from BSU. I figured a glitch in their computers, or they lost the national "True Oldies" feed and went with Thriller back-to-back... then I figured there'd be a story here, lo and behold here it is. It's too bad, I really enjoyed this station a LOT! Should I assume the Broncos reference means we're getting a new sportstalk station on FM? It's poor signal in Boise makes it sound somewhat of an AM frequency... so sportstalk should fit in there just fine.

My question is whether we're going to see them continue to bang away at the Boise market with this signal or have a shift in focus towards Mountain Home and/or Twin Falls. They've thrown some pretty good ideas at the 99.1 stick with a Boise focus that didn't, er, stick. Maybe some of them could have worked given more time, but here we are. So it's either a mass appeal format for Mountain Home or something that they think can do better than a 1.5 share in Boise. Country for Mountain Home? Sportstalk for Boise?

I find it hard to believe an oldies format isn't viable. What was Impact thinking - oh wait they weren't. If they think they are getting their revenge on the Boise Valley by playing Thriller over and over and over and over and over, they are wrong. All my radios have been switched to another station and you can bet it won't be an Impact Radio station EVER AGAIN!

Ugh...not again. Everytime we find a good oldies station they decide it's not working and change it. It's nice to be able to put on a station in the car or at the house that you don't have to worry about your kids hearing. The music was great, we loved listening to it and we don't need another country, sports talk or rock station. Oldies is where it's at. It's not just for the baby boomer generation. I'm only 33 and love listening to music from the 50's, 60's, etc. Really, really, REALLY disappointed in the GM's decision here. I think it's the wrong one.

There used to be country at 100.7...it was a boise failure too. I think you are missing the point...that is not a "full market" signal. I would have to be a truly amazing format for people to listen in on.

To take on 3 country stations with another that has a bad signal...not good. How about they do some sort of ROCK format that actually plays some currents? You know...when someone in programming cared about the X and it had great ratings? A new "active" type rock station that is noisy and in your face...like they do with wild...get people talking...kids off their I-pods...compelling talent...local...not voice tracked...sounds like the stuff that Impact is doing now... :)

We'll have to see. Maybe Big Jack will make a comeback as a Goth Jock... LOL

Well, I for one am fairly preturbed by the fact that 99.1 is gone, I enjoyed the station, and it's the only damn radio station I get in Mountain Home, besides the torrential downpour of country and mariachi music. Seriously, a good rock station would be nice. Or perhaps (le gasp!) a metal or alternative station should open up. Though I doubt it, Apparently Idaho doesn't get tired of hearing about country artists losing their horses, dogs, houses, wives, and trucks. But I guess I'm the minority, otherwise, why would so many country stations exist...?
