"BROAD IT UP, KQLZ. I, for one, do not want to expect what is going to be played whenever I turn the radio on."

Then take the display off your stereo and hit random buttons.

I have seen several references to the weak signal in Boise. Why do you think the results with this format will be different from all the rest that have failed on this signal?

Heh, are you kidding me? Sure, The Virus may have seemed to boast a broad format, but any time I turn on the station, it's that latest song from Foo Fighters, or....Pearl Jam (I'm not exaggerating my claim that they overplay Pearl Jam the worst of any station I know of).

With a repetitious play list on certain songs from bands, The Virus will simply not keep the audience tuned into their week Boise area receptive signal.

BROAD IT UP, KQLZ. I, for one, do not want to expect what is going to be played whenever I turn the radio on.

Anything that's broadcast on The River just isn't targeted for the main demo The Virus is trying to attract, Unless the mighty Johnstone and Deeds are afraid of the large play list The Virus carries around?

The Virus is called "Pop/Alternative"

The X IS "Active Rock"

The River is "AAA - Adult Album Alternative"

Last week, I really did pay a lot of attention to the station's playlist..they seem to have a good approach by stretching their format to cover multiple rock genres. But, they over play a good deal of music that just isn't that good, (for example, Linkin Park's new single).

I'm already sick of the format. It would help them to play more songs instead of really on a set rotation. There is one station (I wish they had an online stream) in North Dakota that plays a mainstream rock format covering genres from classic rock to modern rock. How they don't sound bad is simply by handing the power to the disc jock. Call it risky business if you like, I call it true radio. And KQLZ could easily fit that bill. Hell, J105 could easily fit that bill, too.

That North Dakota radio station's call letters is KZRX 92.1, by the way. If you head across the state on I-94, tune it in when you reach Dickinson. It's a true gem of a radio station that didn't get sickening for the entire I week I spent there (three weeks ago).

Yep, Deeds and his "newspaper family" (as I will call it) connects with KIVI. Which is Journal. Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed this...
