The day the Magic died: KZMG changes name
Don Day | October 6, 2009
KZMG/Magic 93.1 was – until yesterday – one of the longest-surviving brands in Boise radio. It was in the ranks of J-105 and call-letter names like KQFC and KBOI – with nearly two decades on the air.
No more.
KZMG is now “93-one Hit Music Now.” So far, we don’t know a lot – other than the station has revamped its imaging. Syndicated Kidd Kraddic and local anchor Tom Collins are still in place this morning. A temporary placeholder website is up – 931hits.com.
The TV spot on the site features a verrrrry familiar voice guy… Take a listen.

Too bad their logo is from 20 years ago also.
I'm just kidding, I don't think Word Art was invented 20 years ago.
Ugg, when will these folks get it that all the radio shuffle is turning listeners off. I have no idea who is who and what they play and when… As this continues I find myself digging out more and more CDs for my car. Radio folks, be warned, listeners are getting lost in YOUR need to re-brand and re-invent yourself. Do something, do it well, and you don't have to worry about new logos and tags.
Actually, that art work is a blatant ripoff of 97.1 Amp Radio in Los Angeles.
“If a tree falls in the Forrest and no one is there to witness it, does it still make a sound?”
Who's Forrest?
Big deal. The station still sounds like a copy cat of KISS. One of them has to change formats, and it might as well be the third place Top 40 KZMG.
I don't know about getting lost in the radio shuffle. The only station that's changed this year is 99.1.
I wonder if the logo was created by somebody in Idaho, or the usual…”we had it made in California!!!”
Nobody in Idaho can do logos/artwork for Idaho companies.
Certainly not or that quality, anyway. Wow.
